RESEARCH PHASE

1. Desk Research

We began with an extensive review of the landscape Gen A inhabits. Through desk research, we examined general trends in Gen A’s technology use, attitudes, and values. We then analyzed Samsung’s current offerings to pinpoint gaps and explore opportunities for innovation.

2. Primary Research

To gain a firsthand understanding, we conducted surveys and in-depth interviews with Gen A participants, aged 6-12, who provided valuable insights into their habits.

1

IDENTIFYING OPPURTUNITY AREAS

he insights from our research revealed multiple pain points and areas where Samsung could better engage Gen Alpha.

2

SOLUTION DEVELOPEMENT

Based on our insights, we brainstormed concepts using Root-cause analysis, double diamond method, affinity mapping, and the DeepDive™ Methodology, we developed solutions

3

USER PERSONAS AND JOURNEY MAPPING

We developed user personas and mapped journeys based on Gen Alpha behaviors to identify key moments for intervention.

4

PROTOTYPING AND DESIGN

We created wireframes and high fidelity prototypes to communicate our solutions.

REFLECTIONS

Lessons

The iterative design process was crucial in refining our concepts based on continuous feedback. It highlighted the importance of flexibility in design, ensuring our solution evolved to meet Gen A’s needs. The Double Diamond approach also helped guide the project, allowing us to explore ideas broadly before narrowing down to the most relevant features.

Skills Built Upon

This project strengthened my research skills, from desk analysis to conducting interviews. It also taught me how to simplify complex ideas for Gen A, ensuring the design was both engaging and understandable for a younger audience.

What I’d Change for Next Time

I’d prioritize more frequent user testing throughout the process to get continuous feedback, allowing for quicker adjustments and a product that better aligns with user needs.
